New Picture of Auto preening on his NEW, Petroglyph & Lichen covered Perch
(The background is a glass candleholder)‚ & My puffin totem... the puffins found a stack of little flower beads that they decided‚ made good sombreros... (Auto got one too!) Rudolph Von Puff is on the bottem and Jaun A'Beer‚ is on the top, they are both adopted and ready to fly,

Nov 29 Early evening, There is a light drizzle falling and the temp has gone up all day, I still have lavatera, pansies and calendula blooming in the garden...
My peacock bead was repeatable, but since I'm using the heavily silvered glass from both double helix and R4 you never get exactly the same colours twice... but the beads are close !
Auto is packing his bag tonight... I'm keeping a close watch on him to make sure he doesn't take anything that doesn't belong to him!
I got a phone call from the local phone co. yesterday (Aliant) ... when they were trying to prove to us that it was us and not their equipment that didn't work ... back when the router crapped out..... some of the settings on G's computer were altered to the point that he could no longer get on line.... He took it to a computer repair shop to be fixed. The tech there told him he should submit the bill to aliant..... Anyway Aliant phoned yeseterday and told us they would be paying the bill even though it was our fault that G's computer didn't work... they didn't tell him to do anything and it was computer illiterates like G and I that caused them to have so many techs... I just about choked.... I would have loved to have been there when she said that to G... I thought it was better to take the money and run.... However I did point out to her that the DI tech when he finally showed up said that he could have been there 3 days after our phone call there was no reason for us to wait almost three weeks.... We pay as much as anyone else for our service, so we should get the same service!

Nov 28 Once again Yahoo Search came to my rescue all that is totally gone is yesterdays update, and the pictures, I will put the pictures back later. I just posted todays clue and reposted a version of yesterdays, if you can't get the answer now... I give up! New game this weekend! If you haven't read last nights rant you won't know that I deleted the entire rant, By midnight last night I had all but yesterday back... I actually deleted the pictures , when I was trying to clean up the evil pink font and the A's that had invaded the page... What is it that Sally and "I" use to clean up the pink splotch in the Cat in the Hat, maybe I should smack my computer with it! and clean up the mess instantly.......

The bead that started the search for an albino Peacock... However what I really wanted I guess is....

Cameo Pied Male
This is the link to the site the pattern came from, with other Kitty's modeling their beds, It's pretty cute!
Kitty Pi beds
Nov 23 It's very grey here today for American Thanksgiving, but it warmed up over night to 6 C (or 44F), it was definitely very frosty at 11pm last night, when I was out looking for Em! He always comes and 'watches' TV in the evening... and he wasn't there last night.... I finally found him at 11:30, he had shut himself in the spare bed room upstairs! I'll add a few pictures of Em's felted kitty bed later today... No new exciting beads, I'm working on my last batch of Christmas gallery earrings....Then I can play..... Auto will find out his new home a week from today, He got an email from someone in Holland yesterday and is quite excited about maybe getting to move to Europe! Although he's still got his sites set on a warm tropical beach somewhere!

Nov 20 Another grey fall day.... The felted cat bed is done, Emmy is not interested, I showed it to him he stretched out on the concrete beside it.... G is off to tuck Money-Pit in for the winter today, he starts curling tonight too, The games are mostly at 6:30 so that means leaving here on the 5:30 ferry, and he wants supper first....

Nov 19 Busy felting a couple of hats and Emmy's new kitty bed today! The bed is knitted out of all my leftover hat and mitt scraps... so is rather colourful... I showed it to Em after I finished knitting it, he didn't seem highly impressed... However the next morning there was a pile of half digested cat food sitting on the floor where the cat bed had been... Maybe cats aren't colour blind after all! We are back to almost seasonal temps here now, no more 65 degree days in the near forcast.... Nov 18 Saturday.... I was in SJ for the last two days, deliverying stock and shopping. Yesterday morning I got up based on the time on the alarm clock ... It was still on daylight saving time so I was running an hour early! It was warm enough to go wading in the waves on the beach ....My computer just popped up a virus scanning message.... Test cannot be started because it already does not exist!....

Nov 15 Overcast and warm, think the lobster season here opened today, it was postponed due to weather and North Atlantic Right Whales that had the audacity to still be in the Bay of Fundy in mid November! I got sent a pattern for a felted kitty bed, I thought it was a good use of all the part balls of wool that I have left over from hats and mitts, all I can say is a sure hope cats are colour blind! Also the bed is round I think it should be more sardine can shape.....

Nov 14 Very windy wet and warm here today! Nothing else exciting is happening!

Nov 10 I haven't done anything so felt no need to bore you! I will think up a new game soon, OK so using a French Phrase wasn't fair! Will I ever do it again , not often... However I could use the one phrase I remember from high school German, Ich kein nur meine gummi schuhe finden loosely translates into I can't find my rubber boots. I know some of those Germanà words are spelt wrong my son and sister will be happy to tell you how long ago High School was! But I always thought that that was one of the more useful phrases to teach someone learning German! It has warmed up here and we're getting rain too, I guess we can't blame our rain on the Pineapple Express, and I don't think that there are any Hurricanes floating around in the Atlantic, so not sure were the warm rain came from! Lobster season opens on Tuesday so I'm sure the winds will pick up! I'm not sure if today is the holiday here or Monday...

Nov 6 It's drizzly today but according to G there is no rain in the forcast so the rain is a figment of our imagination! The very short Canadian Football season started yesterday, the season will be at least one week long this year... Saskatchewan Roughriders beat Calgary in the western semi finals yesterday... I'm sure it's all because Calgary wouldn't let Gainer the Gopher , Saskatchewan's mascot onto the field, that'll teach them! Not only did they not let Gainer onto the field they were selling Gopher burgers and Gopher legs outside the stadium
prior to the game. Why wouldn't they let Gainer onto the field? They thought he would inspire the fans to make to much noise and the team would then play better and beat Calgary.... Well I think it backfired, the team was so pissed off because poor Gainer was stuck in the stands that they beat them just to spite them! Now I'll bet you that BC will let Gainer run around on the feild after touch downs next weekend!Nov 5 Sunny and cool! Today is Guy Fawkes day, a good excuse for a bonfire if you have a pile of wood or leaves lying around in your yard! 401 years ago Guy Fawkes a Catholic tried to blow up the English protestant parliament... The English also burn straw effigies of Guy Fawkes on their bonfires, here's your history lesson 2006 is actually the 200th anniversary since its been straw Guy Fawkes dolls that are being burned on the bonfires, prior to 1806 it was straw doll popes that were burned in effigy! The weather on Friday was much nicer that Thursday, cold and sunny had to scrape the frost off my car with a credit card, knew those things were good for something! The scenery between Miramachi and Fredericton would have been much nicer 10 days ago before all the leaves blew off! Here it's been down to 31 or -.9 not cool enough to generate 1/8 inch of frost! Think we still have flowers! Nov 2... wet a cool here in Miramachi, actually drove through wet snow getting here somehow I missed that part of the forcast... between the fog and the snow I sort of missed the scenery! On to Fredericton tomorrow!

Nov 1 Gorgeous morning today, I took the garbage out in bare feet and a trench coat this morning, I didn't want to take it out last night as who knows where it would have ended up... wonder where the tire fire was this year... Pumpkins end up smashed all over the highway, one of the reasons I know longer carve one! We had about 30 kids which leaves me 10 tiny chocolate bars... Yes I cut it rather close! Actually started to pour here about 8 but all the kids do is run from the car to the door... I couldn't figure out why everyone was going to the gallery door, then one of the kids said but you have a sign on your door saying use side door! It's for the gallery... I forgot it was there! Once removed I had no more kids wandering around in the dark tripping over Peter's tie down lines... My hi speed tech is suppose to be here today, however since Stuart's router is working just fine and I don't know when he's coming I'll be stuck here all day... Why can't they at least say morning or afternoon... I can't even make beads as I'm not sure I'd hear them....

Oct 31 Happy Hallowe'en The wind has finally died down here so costumes might survive running from the car to the house. Kids get driven around here as the houses are strung out along the highway. The candy/distance covered ratio is pretty low! Not sure if the following link will work but if it doesn't cut and paste it into your browser! It's for all the people like me who don't like getting all mucky cutting up pumpkins. I would much rather play in the mud!   http://www.coasttocoastam.com/timages/page/pumpkin_sim.html
Sorry your going to have to cut and paste that.. I refuse to load the stupid editor which I need to figure out how to make it live! .. I'm tired of all those polite little A's that show up all over the place whenever I use it! I'm going to Miramachi on Thursday and need to go pack up the order. It's a new Gallery and a city I've never been too, It's the opposite corner of the province to where I live. Too bad most of the leaves blew off this week it should have been a really pretty drive!

Oct 30 Writing this in HTML instead of the HTML editor to try and outsmart those nasty little A"S!!!!! Got an email from a friend who pointed out that at least they were polite they're wearing hats! That however is one of my biggest gripes... Men who wear hats indoors! New picture of me in my 'wicked woman' garb from Saturday night on the about me page! Off to clean and polish an order of Birdies for Northern NB... Hope y'all find todays clue real helpful!

Oct 28 G came home from SJ with Stuart's Router so we're back on Hi Speed, so the tech can take as long as he wants to get here! Spend an hour last night deleteing A"s only by then they had mutated and become A? I deleted them, archived back to Alexandria where they first occured... Changed line 5 of my code that's when the ? showed up but more is actually easier to find! Em is home too and hasn't forgotten how to get up onto the balcony... He now weighs 9.9 pounds so has doubled his weight since he had his cryptorchid operation. I just got my Renewal from The ISGB and they have me living in Nebraska not New Brunswick, but I guess the postal system just looks at the postal codes!

Oct 27... New game today Just spent an hour uploading two pictures... isn't no speed internet fun!

I'm not sure about all the loose ends.... I would have got a whole bunch of marks deducted for that sort of workmanship in high school home-ec but I guess it fits right in with torn jeans and t-shirts that hang below jackets....! Stupid computer just put all my A's back in I think they are everywhere I have but in an extra space.... Don't have the patience to delete them all this morning! Any computer GEEKS out there that have any idea where they are coming from and why they suddenly resurfaced ??? Not to mention the multiply every time I save this rant.... Help! Please... There is another picture on my home page a set of jewellery of mine that I took through the front window of the gallery in Saint Andrew's (and yes I had permission to take it!) The sun is trying to shine today... Time to go get the mail since it's taken so long to upload 2 pictures, actually wanted to do 5 but gave up!

Oct 26... It'll be a couple of days before this wicked lady comes up with a new quote, I'm thinking... while I make snowmen and another 200 filigrani pastelles, FUN FUN FUN! Think Em is coming home today after his vets appointment... NOt sure how much deck got built yesterday as the pump in the sewer quit so he got to play plumber in the sewage.... Lucky Gord!!!! I thought it was very nice not to have quit while we were away too! The sun is trying to shine today... Actually my gas price conversion yesterday was wrong our gas is only about $3.10 US/ gallon I went the wrong way on the $ conversion I'm so use to turning US $ into Canadian ... While I was on the mainland Tuesday I bought a ball of Premier Feza yarn from Turkey... It's 8 or 9 different yarns about 5 m of each yarn hand knotted together (*2) and then skeined..... I made a scarf out of mine, (Next one I will try and find bigger needles 8mm and use a few more stitches... longer is better than wider...?) I bought red.... It's quite neat, I was trying to weave the ends in as I knit but then decided that the knotted bits hanging off were part of the look so gave up. Yes I will get Prudence to model it . Need to go get started on some of my 200 pastilles.....

Oct 25 Our Hi Speed crashed, quit, became flaky, Sunday so we're back on dial up.... Everything takes soo long and they aren't sending out a technician until early November, guess that's next week... but, I spent yesterday on the mainland deliverying stock etc...(getting gas in the states It was $2.35/gallon yesterday, {here is .89 cents/litre or $4.09/gallon) G & I did see gas under $2.00 in southern VA we were making rude remarks about the closer you got to DC the cheaper it got but the cheap gas was actually on the Delaware Virginia border.{Cheapest gas in Canada is in the Ottawa/Hull area}) Mardens' the resale store in Calais had obviously just bought out a craft store, so I spent awhile pawing through the bins, seeing if there were any nice beads etc... Not much nice left, but I did buy a few pairs of pliers, Mine all have legs they never stay where I put them! G went to SJ to rebuild the deck there, I figured I could spend the time bonding with EM ... wrong G scooped him up on the way out the door and said he would take him to the vet while he was in SJ... the tenants have a cat living in EM's (Stuart's) old apartment... I think Em met Oliver once before and wasn't impressed! Most of Saturday I spent sorting through bead images for an online interview... I wasn't going to send them til Sunday but decided since I had found them I really should send them... that was about the last thing the useless router did... Maybe I strained it sending all those pictures! Will post a link when it's done!

Oct 22 Sunny day today! Friday was drizzly, we went to SJ to drop off jewellery, see Stuart, pat the house on the head and join all the other gawkers driving past the Queen Mary.... THE QMII was the cruise ship of the day. Actually she stayed in port over dinner and all the 'local' war brides that came over on the original QM were invited aboard for dinner. There are two or three cruise ships ever week in SJ in the fall. Not sure what the passengers do when they are there.... We got home from SJ just before a real downpour hit.. I made a comment to a friend that when we get strong NE winds and heavy rain it's like sleeping in a washing machine... he replied that at least we didn't get a Tornado so missed out on the spin cycle! Yesterday the wind changed direction and my poor inflated pumpkin blew out of the soggy ground and split his stitches open.... Need to anchor him better, It isn't all that easy to patch those things! At least the patch is on the ground so hidden! Yesterday I soldered birds and fixed my pumpkin (G was trying to tell me a deer ran through it.... don't think so!).....then spent all afternoon putting together a set of pictures of my beads/jewellery to ship off into cyber space.....

Oct 19 Money-pit just motored out of the cove on her way to Bayside (near Saint Andrews) to be pulled out of the water and tucked into bed for the winter. It was originally suppose to be yesterday.... but they were unloading a boat at Bayside and further more the weather was awful so today should be much better! Last year they almost dropped the boat, hopefully they won't do that again! The truck was left there yesterday so I'm not involved in the pick up at all After my course at William Holland, I had a really good time, great class, lovely location, I flew from Atlanta to Savanah, we left Young Harris location of William Hollandand it was 56 degrees and raining by the time we got to Atlanta it was 82.... I had the option of flying out on an earlier plane as Delta has about 1 an hour between Atlanta and Savanah... I declined in favor of eating supper with my "Driver". When I did get to Savanah I discovered that the Atlanta airport had been basically shut down all afternoon and my flight was one of the first flights that had left on time, the one an hour earlier had arrived about 10 minutes before me! Savanah was 94 degrees on the Saturday morning... I melted, Our morning entertainment there after I traded my jumper in for a new sun dress was taking the free water taxi back and forth accross the river! On the way to Atlanta flying, I went through customs in Toronto, You change terminals and pick up your luggage go through customs and are now offically in the US even though you are still in Canada! I had 3 hours between planes, everyone else on my flight from SJ that was going to the US missed their connections as they had between 60 and 100 minutes (a legal connection!), It took over an hour for our luggage to make it to the "US" terminal! I would much rather drive accross the border, much less hassel! Coming home all they wanted to know was if we had bought any one item that was worth more than $750....Easy answer NO! The one big change I noticed was you can no longer take coffee cups through security, nor can you take coffeee you've bought in the secure area onto the plane, no more extra large Tim Hortons Moca Chino's or whatever they're called on the plane, you have to drink airline rot gut!

Oct 17 Sunny Tuesday here, sort of froze again over night but I brought in most of my planters two nights ago, some will spent the winter on the front 'porch' the rest will live in the bead shop... The one on the front porch looks nicer now than it did all summer, It has two colours of star-fire geraniums not sure what they are really called but the flower petals come to points... and a licorice plant and some carnations which might bloom someday! Yesterday afternoon I got to be winch wench.. I think things went quite smoothly this year, except the rope fell off the winch hook, but it caught on something at almost the same level, so I was lying on the extremelt stinky, phewy fish gut covered wharf... trying to snag the rope then return it to it's hook... but everytime I just about had it G would wander to the other side of Money-pit and the mast would tilt away from me....... so I would yell at him and start all over, was tempted to drop the two by four on his head! Came home finished making beads and had a shower... wasn't all that thrilled with the dead fish following me around.... Everytime I opened the kiln to place another bead inside the heat would hit the fish and the smell was overpowering... and I HATE the smell of fish.... I used to make my mother cross the street when we went past the fish markets in Reading when I was three! Speaking of Fish, back to Atlantic City, we had supper in a Chinese Restaurant accross the street from our Hotel. (Restaurant chosen due to proximity to Hotel, less than 100 yards to walk in the dark after eating!) Anyway said restaurant had 'live' fish tanks however most tanks had at least one suspect fish in it. We were very careful to avoid any dish that might have fish in it (shrimp were OK though as they weren't in the tanks) Anyway just before our meal was served one of the girls came out and scooped a fairly large very dead fish out of one of the tanks and threw it in a tin pail and carried it back to the kitchen.... Wonder what lucky customer got that! Our food showed up in less than a minute after that so they didn't have time to use it for us! Actually the food was quite good but blander than what I'm used to!
