August 31
Kind of hazy today, but at least it isn't fog! Yesterday was my birthday so we went out for dinner to St Andrews last night... hard to believe that it is the last day of August already... another summer gone! the gallery has been strange this summer pottery is outselling jewellery... Usually Jewellery outsells pottery 2 to 1 this year it's about even depends on the day ...
The infamous window is in! G's son Wade was here for a couple of days this week so he got to help lift... It was placed in the hole then someone noticed that it was an inch lower than the first window....so it got wedged up.... The third person was quite useful especially since it was someone who could actually lift the window and not just push it! The inside is still a mess but the outside is coming along nicely!

August 28
Still sunny although there was one day of rain in their somewhere... G's son is visiting from Toronto, He and Gord spent yesterday in the sailboat... think Wade is now eligable to enter the Red Lobster contest... Not sure why G doesn't hand all the landlubbers sun screen as soon as their feet hit the deck! He fried Stuart last weekend too! On the bead front I've been making flower garden beads, but I'm making them the same shape as the Japanese bead makers make their beads.. I really like the way they are turning out!

The little speckles on the green one are thanks to ZOOM ZOOM who sleeps in my photo cube... I think he has dandruff!
The one on the left is actually sold

So does this look like a comfortable way to sleep to you?

August 22
This is the third morning of sun in a row!!!! I went to Calais yesterday... way to many people trying to go across... G has decided that we are actually going to get our window that didn't arrive on June 26... so he took out the rotten one yesterday... now we have a 5 * 7 board to look out... Lovely view! Our excitement for the week was watching an old house across the street being demolished with a backhoe... There were still clothes hanging in the attic...!

August 17
Today the fog cleared off before 8 am! Yesterday was just yucky... So yucky that I lit a fire in the gallery and went around the house reversing all the ceiling fans... I managed to get the entire main floor of the house up to 80 PURRRRRR... and the humidity level in the house below 110 %!
Today Zoomy manged to get down beind 2 large heavy 6 foot + high shelving units that are pushed into the corner of the room... I heard this scrambling and wondered what he was up to this time... OF course as soon as you start looking for him he crouches down and hides! He must have jumped onto the top and then down the back... Stupid Cat couldn't quite jump high enough to get out ... Once I found him I managed to wiggle one of them out an inch then stuffed towels in the bottom to wedge it out far enough that he could climb out half way up... they do have a bit of a forward lean so get farther away from the wall as they go up... He is now back out wandering around the house seeing what he can get stuck behind next!
The following picture is what I spent yesterday doing It's a commission for a delivery man who saw a Robin that I made hanging in my mothers front hall... He said he wanted one too... but he wanted a chickadee with 'acorns' on a pine tree... the 'acorns' are enameled beads...

The branch is 9 1/16 inches from tip to tip.

August 13
Can't hear the fog horns this morning but it is totally overcast... gloomy... yucky... disgusting.. damp, grey.... any other words you can think of to add to that list feel free to send them to me!
The trip from Cape Cod to st Andrew's in Timeless was suppose to take 5 days 300 miles... 60 miles per day... equals 5 days... I said I don't think your going to make 60 miles a day... G... we won't stop at night until we've gone miles... Day 1 was Monday they went 40 miles... Day 2 was Tuesday they went 19 miles... At that rate they still shouldn't have had Monday nights supper! Can Am McPuff is geting very worried.. He noticed that one of his Buddies Petunia McPuff is for sale on Etsy... He thinks he might be next!
I made a glass thimble yesterday... Was going to try to decorate it with a black cat.... The body and face weren't bad but the tail was less than tail like so I swirled the black and ivory together... doesn't look in the least bit like a smooshed cat! But it wouldn't come off the mandrel this morning... I have heard that if you tap the non bead end of the mandrel against something that it will loosen the bead.... OK... single stick drum solo coming up... about 30 seconds into my solo I realized that I was holding the thimble in my hand and it was no longer attached to my drum stick..... It works!

August 10
The fog horns are blaring... But the sun came out yesterday afternoon at about 3 pm... think it's the first time the sun has been visible in over three weeks!
G left on the 6 am ferry for Cape Cod yesterday to help sail back "Timeless" Getting up at 4:45 is really seeing the world much too early ... it was still dark out! One of the reasons that the boat is being sailed to Canada is it's current dock is a Seagull home and everytime the owners go down for the weekend they have to remove a few bushels of half eaten stinky fish carcases... yum yum I'll take my one day old mouse guts any day over rotting fish!

August 8
Would you believe that's it's still gloomy and overcast here... the sun comes out for a few seconds now and then.... but forget an entire day of blue sky! I went to SJ on Wednesday ... Left G in charge of the gallery.... Look what happens when I leave him alone for the day!

August 5
Still gloomy here... I want sun NOW!!! I some of the July 2006 archived rant and noticed that I mentioned my awning from SK... Well we actually put it up last week, but we put it on the West window not the South window... It's Blue with Orange stripes... the orange looks really nice with the red metal roof! Actually the awning is hidden under a tree so you can't really see that it clashes horribly with the roof! I will be able to tell you if it doe=se any good if the sun ever comes out!
I finished the door insert that I was making yesterday too... I was all ready to solder it earlier in the week but the ring holding the tip for my soldering iron was rusted out completly and the tip fell out onto the panel.... I did find another ring but the iron was too hot to play with so I quit in disgust!

The origianl insert was orange and gold and had a broken piece of glass.. I decided it was much easier just o make a new panel than to try and get one of the corners out, also big chunks of the lead had fallen out of the original panel! So about all I could have used from the original panel would have been the orange diamonds....

August 4
Today is a holiday in most parts of Canada... where I grew up it was called the August bank holiday... not sure what it is here! I tripped over this joke this morning and since other than our continuing yucky weather I have nothing to ramble on about you're getting a bad Joke instead!
The Center for Disease Control has issued a medical alert about a highly contagious, potentially dangerous virus that is transmitted orally, by hand, and even electronically.
This virus is called Weary Overload Recreational Killer (WORK).
If you receive WORK from your boss, any of your colleagues or anyone else via any means whatsoever - DO NOT TOUCH IT.
This virus will wipe out your private life completely.
If you should come into contact with WORK you should immediately leave the premises.
Take two good friends to the nearest grocery store and purchase one or both of the antidotes,
Work Isolating Neutralizer Extract (WINE) and Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter (BEER).
Take the antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system.
You should immediately forward this medical alert to five friends. If you do not have five friends, you have already been infected and WORK is controlling your life.
Lucky for me I've already been vaccinated.
